With the help of over 100people, I have raised US$9000 to buy a beautiful second-hand Salvi harp. I'm picking her up on August 23rd.

Clare started learning the harp at the age of 13.For 9 years she had the pleasure of looking after a friend's harp, but transported it back to Australia at the end of 2009.For the past 7 months Clare has beenharp-less; hiring harps for concerts, and focusing on performing withthe guzheng (chinese zither).Clare is very grateful for anysupport you might be able to give to this fundraiser, and in return allcontributors will receive a limited edition solo CD - the first to berecorded on the new harp.Please visit Clare's website GUTSTRING For more information, photos, recordings, performance history and biography. Australian harpist Clare Cooper is currently based in Berlin. Overthe past 10 years she has performed her music and improvised solo Harpand Guzheng concerts internationally at the Musee des Beaux Arts(Nantes), AMAT Festival (Valencia), Strasbourg Contemporary Art Museum,Blaest (Trondheim), Mesto Zensk Festival (Ljubljana), Square Gallery(London), Offsite (Tokyo) and Ausland (Berlin). Clare also started theNOW now festival of spontaneous music, Smack Bang Festival, theSplinter Orchestra Sydney and most recently, the Splitter Orchestra inBerlin.
